The latest news regarding the playing field after this disappointing planning decision is more encouraging. As a result of the campaign lead by the Friends of Queensway Family Field and representations made by the Town Team in supporting the residents group the new Leader of the Council has made a personal intervention. He has met with the residents on-site, stepped out the limits of any redevelopment of the old Brumby Hospital site and made a promise to the Friends of Queensway Family Field that the much-loved playing field and green space will be retained for community use. The campaign is not over but we look forward on the strength of this assurance to the playing field remaining intact and available for safe use by local children and families as they have done for decades.
