Scunthorpe Town Team is a community group of civic-minded Scunthorpe people working together to make Scunthorpe a better place to live. We have open meetings once every two months – anyone is welcome to attend. The original Scunthorpe Town Team ran from 2000 to 2011 and was involved in a number of projects – notably Lincolnshire Lakes and The Pods leisure complex. The group was disbanded in 2011 and then restarted in 2012 as Scunthorpe Renaissance Town Team. We seek to canvas local opinion and introduce ordinary Scunthorpe people’s views and concerns into the local debate – by talking to local media, the council and other players. We have a number of local retailers as members and seek to highlight their views as well. We have a special interest in the Town Centre but are not limited to this – we are concerned with all aspects of Scunthorpe life. We are proud of Scunthorpe and its people and think that other Scunthorpe people should be too. We are formally constituted and democratic. We are not affiliated to any political party or any other organisation.
